IDENTITY (Women Entrepreneurship Development Program)

The IDENTITY program aims at training 1000 women in small businesses in and around the Jalandhar city in one financial year. The first leg of the program was carried out by conducting Women Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs in collaboration with HMV college on the “Strengthening Entrepreneurship amongst Women”, FDP program at KMV college on “Agricultural Technology in Startups” and at two villages – Adampur and Chandpur in collaboration with NABARD on the topic “Small Business Entrepreneurship amongst Women”

DiSTance: The DiSTance program is an incubation program

The DiSTance program is an incubation program. which has been running since January is a program which goes by the three key needs of a startup since it’s ideation – mentorship, advising and investment which it abiding by like a ritual. The program aims at becoming the backbone of startups by helping them right from their pitch decks, prototyping, funding, marketing strategies, expanding their network and for their establishment of commercial stability, etc, uptil their graduation without handicapping them with any forces decisions by growing them like a baby. To favour the same, the TBI has also taken extended its first branch towards through the startups by running a 6 week summer internship program for the startups providing interns from and outside NITJ, thus also bringing employment opportunities for the students through the TPO at the campus.

Awareness and training programs

TBI has been holding training and awareness programs at NITJ to promote entrepreneurship and startup culture and develop a clear understanding of the same amongst the staff, students and faculty. These programs included online training sessions with B.Tech students, a session of the startups with CA, Mr. Vikram Arora on how to register your startup, sessions on becoming Job Creators than becoming Job Seekers in collaboration with guest speakers online and offline such as Mr. Raghav Sharma, Founder of Xovian, a Space Tech Gov. funded startup; Mr. Somveer Singh, CEO of Innovation Mission Punjab. A big scale event in collaboration with Bharatmala, a #madeinindia startups’ initiative of breaking a world record of an epic ride of 14,216kms on EV bikes, while touching 50 stops and 20 colleges to spread the message with Live examples of “Why is it the best time to start up in India?”, evangelizing the startup culture in colleges in India whilst demonstrating the Performance & Durability aspects of the EV ecosystem in India coupled with a message on Road safety.
